These solid electrolytic capacitors feature a conductive polymer cathode, capable of delivering very low ESR with an improved capacitance retention at high frequencies and benign failure mode.

The technology combines the low ESR capability of an MLCC, the high capacitance of aluminum electrolytic, and the volumetric efficiency of tantalum MnO₂ capacitors into a single surface mount package. Unlike liquid electrolyte-based capacitors, KO-CAP has long operational life, and high ripple current capability.
