E-Mobility
From on-board charging to inverters, we offer a full spectrum of electrification component solutions that deliver high reliability and optimal performance at high temperatures and in harsh environments.
Overview
With over 60 years of proven expertise in automotive grade electronic component solutions, we design, develop, and enable the next generation of innovation for electrified vehicles. We provide automotive grade components designed with safer failure mechanisms and qualified to industry standards, such as AEC-Q200 and VW AUDI 80808. Our parts have been proven on the road and in the lab. We have an extensive track record of reliability, and our automotive-grade products are verified to work under harsh temperatures. They are certified for automotive applications, such as powertrain, on-board electronics, and charging systems.
On-Board Charging
Our automotive components enable safer, better performance, and higher efficiency for on-board chargers. Components used in on-board chargers, ranging from capacitors to chokes, must have a long life, increased efficiency, and reliability in a small form factor. Getting power to the batteries of plug-in hybrid vehicles or fully battery-powered vehicles is always a challenge since passive component selection can impact the power transfer process. See component solutions for on-board charging.
Wireless Charging
Wireless charging is a convenient way of transferring power to electronic devices and batteries. Doing so for high power systems, such as electric cars, is a challenge where efficiency is critical. DC/DC Converter
There are two different power systems in an electric vehicle: a high-voltage and a low-voltage battery. Today's electric cars primarily receive power from the high-voltage battery pack. The high voltage battery pack needs to recharge the low-voltage battery to start the car, and power all of the low-voltage electronics within the vehicle. The DC-DC converter must be bi-directional, efficient, and reliable to ensure a solution for electric cars. See component solutions for DC-DC converters.
Inverters
An electric drivetrain relies on a traction inverter to drive electric motors to turn wheels. A traction inverter converts DC energy from the high-voltage battery to the three-phase AC energy used to drive the traction motor. Embedded Controllers
Embedded Controllers provide the hardware platform for firmware/software to bring the intelligent operation to each e-Mobility power subsystem. We provide the passive components which support the Power Distribution Network (PDN) and interface with the vehicle's communication bus. Learn more about our proven solutions for embedded controllers.
