KEMET Announces Expansions in the T520 and T528 Surface Mount Tantalum Capacitor Product Lines
KEMET's leadership position in low ESR tantalum polymer technology continues to grow. This month KEMET announces the release of eight new T520 Low ESR Series part types including three industry leading ESR offering and the new low profile L Case (6032-20). KEMET has once again expanded its lead in small case size low ESR solutions with the addition of three new B Case (3528-21) offerings available with maximum ESR values of 25mohms. These new releases have expanded KEMET's 25mohm B Case offerings to now include voltage ratings from 2.5V to 6.3V with capacitance offerings from 47uF to 220uF. The 25mohm B Case offerings have been requests throughout the portable electronics industry and offer other industry segments a small case size substitution option for larger low ESR D Case (7343-31) and V Case (7343-20) offerings. KEMET remains focused on low profile solutions with the release of the T520 Series L Case (6032-19). With a maximum case height of 1.9mm and a smaller footprint (6032) that the traditionally used 7343 Case sizes, the L Case size offers the highest CV available in the industry for this case configuration with capacitance values from100uF to 330uF, rated voltages of 3V to 10V and a maximum ESR rating of 25mOhms. Suitable for applications of 9V or less, the L Case is quickly becoming a popular choice for low profile portable electronics.
KEMET continues to respond to industry demands for leading edge microprocessor decoupling solutions with the release of two new T528 Z Case (7343-17) offerings with a maximum ESR of 8mOhms. Available in capacitance offerings of 330uF to 470uF at 2.5V, these new releases offer both low ESR AND low ESL (<0.7nH @ 20MHz) which translates into improved capacitance retention at higher frequencies. The advancements made in the T528 Series allow for usage of these devices in wider frequency range applications compared to other low ESR component solutions and also offer designers the ability to reduce overall component piece count resulting in an improved solution cost as well as a reduction in board space.
