| Greenville, South Carolina (August 2, 2006) – KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM) today announced the expansion of its Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor portfolio with the introduction of Extended Capacitance Values in X5R dielectric. KEMET continues to broaden and enhance its Ceramic portfolio with industry leading capacitance values. The new Extended Capacitance Values range from 1.0 to 47 microfarads at rated voltages from 4 to 16 volts and are available in EIA case sizes ranging from 0402 to 0805. Capacitors have 100% pure Matte Tin (Sn) plated terminations for excellent solderability and are RoHS compliant.
These components meet the same high performance standards of KEMET's other ceramic capacitors, offering long component life, increased reliability and non-directional polarization for simplified component mounting. Circuit functions of these capacitors would include decoupling and output filtering applications in devices such as Gaming Consoles, Laptops, Desktops, Handheld and Telecommunications applications.
Newest capacitance values are available in tolerances of K (±10%) and M (±20%).

The operating temperature range of the X5R capacitors is between -55°C and +85°C, with zero bias capacitance shift limited to ±15% over those ranges.
