| Greenville, South Carolina (September 1, 2006) – KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM) today announced the expansion of their surface-mount multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) portfolio with the extension of capacitance values in the X7R dielectric. These extended values are being offered in a 100 volt rating and range from .047 to 1.0 microfarads. They are available in tolerances of J (±5%), K (±10%), and M (±20%). Case sizes include EIA 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210. These components meet the requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council's AEC-Q200-Rev. C and are available in both Commercial and Automotive grades.
Widely used throughout the electronics industry, including automotive, power supply and general electronic applications where higher operating temperatures are required, these new extended values are RoHS Compliant and are being offered with 100% pure matte tin-plated terminations for excellent solderability.
The operating temperature range of the X7R capacitor is between -55°C and +125°C, with zero bias capacitance shift limited to ±15% over those ranges.
