| Greenville, South Carolina (August 16, 2005) – KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM) announced today the launch of KEMET’s "L" Series, a line of ceramic commercial surface mount capacitors with Tin/Lead terminations. The Tin/Lead “L” series is a response to the concerns and needs of the military, space, and high reliability electronics community.
KEMET “L” series capacitors are available in commercial surface mount EIA sizes from 0402 to 2225. The "L" series dielectric availability includes X5R, X7R, & C0G dielectrics which are the most widely used in the industry. Voltage ratings are available from 6.3 volts up to 200 volts. Capacitance ranges in the "L" series include all commercially available ceramic surface mount MLCC capacitors from low capacitance 0.5pF up to high capacitance 47uF depending on case size, dielectric, and voltage rating selection. The "L" series capacitors contain Tin/Lead terminations with a minimum 5% lead content.
