| Greenville, South Carolina (December 15, 2005) – KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM) today announced the launch of its new High Temperature T499 Tantalum Chip series. This series is designed for use in applications with operating temperatures up to 175 degrees Celsius. This product offers the highest operating temperature capability in a surface mount tantalum device available in the market place.
The T499 series expands KEMET’s portfolio of products targeted for harsh environmental applications, including under hood automotive electronics, base stations, and oil exploration equipment.
The T499 series is available in five EIA standard case sizes (A,B,C,D and X) and offers a capacitance range of 0.15 microfarads to 220 microfarads, in voltage ratings of 6 volts to 50 volts. The T499 capacitors are available in RoHS compliant versions and in standard Sn/Pb (5% Pb minimum) terminations.
