| Greenville, South Carolina (November 1, 2006) — KEMET Corporation (NYSE:KEM) held six seminars in September and October to demonstrate the capacitance leader’s commitment to progressive thinking and technological advancement.
Through its signatory KIT (KEMET Institute of Technology), these seminars were geared toward the decision makers, designers and engineers in the capacitor industry—most of them in the passive component market. A range of speakers across KEMET’s marketing, technology, manufacturing and quality groups were on hand to present expertly-detailed presentations on a variety of capacitance issues, including:
- The manufacture of tantalum and ceramic capacitors
- A comparison of structures and performance for tantalum, ceramic, film and aluminum capacitors
- Quality systems and checks
- Capacitor applications
- New products and roadmaps for innovation
Comments from attendees were resoundingly positive, especially since KEMET took the initiative to present courses at their Greenville, South Carolina, Innovation Center and in Singapore; Taipei, Taiwan; Shenzhen, China; Suzhou, China and Évora, Portugal.
“It’s wonderful that KEMET embraces a global reach with their company, products and education,” said one attendee. “You really don’t get this kind of combination with other firms in the industry.”
Others agreed that KIT provided a unique customer service approach.
“Collaborative support,” remarked another attendee at the Greenville Innovation Center seminar. “They make the products, and then back them up with some pretty good people and services. It’s why I deal with KEMET.”
Over 270 people attended these seminars, representing 82 customer locations across KEMET’s three business channels: OEM, Distribution and EMS.
